A swell gang of wooden friends

Designer Mark Giglio lives and works in Oakland, California. He's worked with 2k by Gingham, Apple, Dwell, GSP, Nike, Tolleson Design, and others.

I love the simplicity of his work - whether it's his wooden pieces, illustrations, or awesome t-shirts, everything is finely balanced and clean.

Tuesday Trio: AJ Fosik, LIz McGrath, Ojimbo

ArtBlips.com

AJ Fosik - beautifully carved & meticulously assembled, would love to hang one of these.
Liz McGrath - saw her work years ago at a gallery in LA - awesomely deranged & the level of detail is amazing; be sure to check out the diorama Mala and Rhea - Blood Sucking Siblings
Ojimbo - I first saw his carved mini totems at at '07 show at Roq La Rue gallery in Seattle; not so sure what he's working on lately, but I hope to see more soon!

Tuesday Trio: Faile, José Parlá, & Joshua Petker

Faile - Been a fan for years now - just realized that what appear to be torn layers of posters affixed on top of each other is really just one flat surface; all details are hand painted. Turns out there was a "Street Art" show at the Tate Modern in 2008; Faile (and Os Gêmeos and others) had a giant mural pasted outside.

José Parlá
- Dark, dirty and dank - riddled with layers of calligraphic script - would love to see them in person.  His website is "under construction," so you may want to view more of his art and read an interview at FecalFace.com

Joshua Petker - A modern day impressionist influenced by Klimt (his own words).
